The snow has been falling for several hours now. My mind, still rooted in Austin marvels. It is gorgeous.
Then again, I don’t have to drive in it today.
Maddy doesn’t mind it nearly as much as she used to. In fact we went out and played for a while this morning. We are both reminded that the act of balancing isn’t always sub-conscious. Snow down your pants will do that.
Looking a few inches above my monitors I watch the snow fall as Buddy Guy cross-fades to The Beatles. Sarah is down-stairs reading a new book about making sushi and Maddy is curled-up on her silver pillow on the floor next to my desk.
A Sunday at peace, in a land that is not as strange as it was a month ago.
