Howdy everyone! I apologize for the lack of posts on this site, and the fact that I haven’t rolled out version 1.2 of SilverSpider Play List yet (soon, I promise!), but I have been extremely busy.
With what you ask? Interviewing for my dream job! While I wasn’t looking for a new job (working from home is a pretty sweet setup), I saw the listing for a Web Production Specialist at Stratfor, and I couldn’t resist applying. I have regularly visited their site for years, feeding my information addiction, learning everything I could from the free intelligence briefings they would occasionally distribute. This was a perfect situation as my skills and experience match, point-for-point every requirement on their list, and the interviews proved that my personality and work style will blend in well with the corporate environment. Even the personality profile test appears to indicate that I should fit in – remind me to talk about the test later… it was interesting.
I received an offer Thursday evening and accepted it Friday morning.
For those of you who are not familiar with Stratfor, here is the quick summary of what we do, as quoted from the About US page:
> In today’s explosive information age, Stratfor continues to be the world’s leading private intelligence provider. Individuals, corporations, and even government agencies with their own internal intelligence resources rely on Stratfor for unbiased, accurate, insightful, actionable analysis of global activities that they can use to plan strategy, manage risk, and be more confidently informed.

> From our headquarters in Austin, Texas, founder Dr. George Friedman leads a team of analysts with an unparalleled record for accuracy and clarity in its forecasts. With its own proprietary network of on-the-ground sources around the world, Stratfor has been called “a private-quasi CIA” by Barron’s, and cited by the mainstream media for its uncanny accuracy and ability to uncover the globe’s best-kept secrets and predict world-changing events in ways that no one else can.
So, in two weeks, I will begin working at Seventh and Lavaca, among a new team, and with a load of projects awaiting my attention. So, if my updates are a bit light for the next few weeks, please forgive me, as I will be slammed as I transition out of my job at A. G. Russell and into my new role at Stratfor.
