The Micro-site Isn’t Dead. (It’s Just Not Useful)
If there’s one type of headline that gets attention—it’s about claiming the death of something. Well, I’d like to proclaim the “un-dead” nature of a format which I think has the potential to become something more powerful than we are currently seeing today. The Micro-site first became adopted by the marketing community as a tool of convenience. It simply became too unwieldy to continue adding sections to our large company/product Websites every time we wanted to promote a new product, feature or service. And specifically for advertisers—well, they needed an online extension for their campaigns to live in the digital space.
6 Metrics for Managing UI Design
“As part of a recent management summit at my company, we were asked to fill out an RMPT matrix for our departments (I head up Product Design). An RMPT matrix consists of (R)esponsibilities, (M)etrics, (P)rocesses, and (T)ools. I have been intending to develop better metrics for both measuring and guiding our design efforts, and this exercise served as a catalyst to get me started. “

Ma.gnolia.org
“M2 is a ground-up rewrite of Ma.gnolia, re-creating features we love today, taking a second run at what didn’t worked as well as planned, on a distributed, service-based architecture designed to handle the large volumes of data we’ve seen. But even more significant, M2 will be an open source project that can be downloaded to remix and run as your own.”
Typeface != Font
“A typeface is not a font. A font is not a typeface. It’s been said before, but confusion still resigns supreme; even the Online Etmology Dictionary and the holders of the rights to Georgia get it wrong. So, at the risk of stating the obvious, but in the hope that someone might find this useful, I’m going to attempt a little disambiguation.”
