While I've made my opinions of sketchy wireframes very clear, I have to say that Sqetch provides a gorgeous bridge between hand-drawn wireframes and their computer-created counterparts.
The components have a high visual fidelity, while conveying the incompleteness that many designers seek when they use "sketchy" wireframing tools and templates.
The toolkit provides all of the expected GUI elements that most designers would need, including those for the iPad and smart phones.
This is a must read for any Web Designer (and front-end Web Devs too). Mike's process and outlook match mine – though I will say that resume does matter to me (but it's the least important aspect).
My addition to the list is a requirement that the resume, portfolio and cover letter (if provided) be proofread. I've tossed many resumes due to multiple misspellings or other mistakes. Attention to detail is important.

JavaScript's come a long way. This library provides a wealth of image manipulation capabilities, including tints, blur, noise, sepia and grayscale – all handled by the browser. What a sweet way to ensure you don't have to reprocess your images the next time you redesign your site.
Using a font instead of images for icons is an interesting concept, which ensures that the icons are infinitely scalable and that the presentation can be easily changed on the fly without any extra page weight (even more so with CSS3).
I am curious where the tipping point lies in terms of page weight and render speed – 3 icons used, five…15? Either way, this is a really good start down an innovative path.
